Whenever I think of this set, I am reminded of the TWO glaring mistakes I made on it. By 1997 the pressure to release more and more collections was getting ridiculous. When I started at RD, two repertoire compilers had been producing around 5 or 6 sets a year, by this point, there was still two compilers, but we were working on anything up to 30 sets at any one time. Mistakes were inevitable...The first however was intentional. We had never been able to obtain certain tracks by high profile artists. This was because the artists themselves would have final say, and some would feel a bit 'snobbish' about appearing on a Reader's Digest collection. However, apparantly, my work at RD had come to the attention of none other than Bob Dylan, who specifically said that I could use "It Ain't Me Babe" on the 1963 volume of this series. Now normally, I would have turned to the record company and said either "It's an album track", "It was only released in 1964" or "Dylan wasn't even known in the UK until 1965", but this was BOB DYLAN! I accepted gracefully a shoe-horned the track onto the third disc, alongside the other oddity of Steveie Wonder's "Fingertips (Part 2)" as 'bonus' tracks for the set, in the hope that we would get more Dylan material for later editions (we never did!).
We was under pressure to get the set out as the third in the test series, and I mistakenly decided to skip the final masters audio check before production. It was a horific moment for me personally, when I received a letter pointing out that we had received the wrong master from the BBC for the "Doctor Who Theme"! Receiving the 1973 version instead of the 1963 original. As a life long Dr Who fan, I was appalled and disgusted with myself.

 Re Issue
In 2006 RD reissued the series as a 12 volume set. The running order was reworked, which made the set more 'generic' and less themed by disc. The natural collecting of the three Gerry & The Pacemakers Number Ones was split up, and several tracks were dropped, and others added * utilising tracks that I was unable to use originally due to there usage on othger RD releases (a silly rule that existed at the time). Ironically the series was renamed 'Remembering The Sixties' but the dropped tracks were those that were more 'memories' than actual hits.

Dropped tracks;-
Black & White Minstrels - Everybody's Doing It (Dixie Melody)
 Bruisers - Blue Girl
 Edith Piaf - Polichinelle
Frankie Howerd & The Company - Comedy Tonight
Millicent Martin - That Was The Week That Was
Radiophonic Workshop - Doctor Who Theme
 Stevie Wonder - Fingertips - Part 2
Tommy Roe - Everybody Eats When They Come To My House
 Tommy Roe - Folk Singer

The new track listing was;-
