SOUNDS OF THE SIXTIES: 1960

http://stuffforcash.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/rdcd-sounds-of-60s-1960.html

First volume in the “Sounds Of The Sixties” series, which was to run for 20 editions.
This was to become RD's most successful pop series ever. Selling hundreds of thousands of copies in the UK alone (other editions produced their own variations), it was one of the few times I was given free rein to produce what I thought would be sucessful! Unlike the Times Warner double disc series of the same name, it not only included the hits from the period, but featured many musical releases that had not been issued since their original release. Memories of TV programmes, film soundtracks, and personalities of the sixties were a prime feature of the series. The original album covers depicted events from the era, rather than actual artists on the pack and even the booklet was written in diary style to enhance this evocative feeling.
